Reprompt - Support

Reprompt is a teleprompter for iPhone, iPad, Mac and Apple Watch. It scrolls your script at your reading pace, records while it scrolls, and is built so a crash cannot cost you the take.

Getting started

Common questions

Will I lose my take if the app closes? No. Your video is written to disk in short fragments while you record rather than saved in one go at the end. If the app is interrupted, the battery dies or the phone rings, reopen Reprompt and the take is waiting in that script's Takes, with a note explaining that it was recovered.

How do I stop a recording? With the red stop button, and only that. No tap, swipe or gesture can end a take by accident - this is deliberate.

Voice Pause isn't moving the script. Voice Pause needs microphone access. If it was denied, a "VOICE OFF - allow mic" badge appears at the top of the prompter; tap it to open Settings. Voice Pause reacts to your voice level rather than to your words, so it keeps working if you paraphrase, but a very noisy room can keep it moving when you have stopped speaking.

Can I use a beam-splitter rig? Yes. Mirroring is in Settings - horizontal, vertical or both - and the whole app can run upside down for under-mounted rigs. Nothing about mirroring is a paid extra.

Can I control it without touching the screen? Yes. The Apple Watch app is a remote for play, pause, paragraph jumps, speed and stopping a take. A Bluetooth keyboard, presentation clicker or foot pedal also works: space plays and pauses, the arrow keys change speed and jump paragraphs, and Escape closes the prompter.

Do my scripts sync between devices? Scripts and folders sync through your own iCloud account if you turn on iCloud sync in Settings. Recorded takes stay on the device that shot them - video is large, and keeping it local keeps it yours.

Where do my recordings go? Into the app, under the script's Takes, always. From there you can play, share, or save one to your photo library.

Is there a subscription? No, and there never will be. Reprompt is a single purchase that covers iPhone, iPad, Mac and Apple Watch, and every future update is included.
