Gridsong is a musical grid for iPhone, iPad and Mac. Tap or drag on the grid to place notes, press play, and it loops. The whole grid is locked to a musical scale, so nothing you tap can sound wrong - no lessons, no theory, no wrong notes.

How can it be that I can't play a wrong note? Every row of the grid is mapped to a note in a musical scale (a pentatonic scale by default), and there are no notes in between. Whatever you tap is already in key, so anything you make sounds musical - on purpose.
How do I use my own sound? Your own sounds are part of Gridsong Pro. Open Settings, then Your sounds, and import an audio file or tap Record a sound and make a sound into the microphone - a word, a hum, a tap on the desk. Trim it, and Gridsong turns it into an instrument you can play across the whole grid. Your sounds are made and kept entirely on your device.
Do my patterns sync between my devices? Yes, if you turn on iCloud sync in Settings. Your library and sound settings sync through your own iCloud account. Your own sounds stay on the device that made them.
How do I share what I made? Press record to capture your loop as audio, then share it from Recordings in your library. With Gridsong Pro, Share video turns your loop into a vertical video, with an optional small "Made with Gridsong" mark, to share anywhere or save to your photos. Sharing only happens when you choose it.
Does it work offline? Yes. Gridsong needs no account, and making music needs no connection (only buying Pro and iCloud sync go online). There are no ads and no tracking of any kind.
Is there a subscription? No, and there never will be. Gridsong is free to download. Gridsong Pro is an optional one-time purchase that covers iPhone, iPad and Mac, and every future update is included.
What does Gridsong Pro add? Twelve more instruments, from Harp and Music Box to Choir and Dream, your own sounds, every template, video sharing and MIDI out, so the grid can play Logic, GarageBand or AUM. The grid, the ten built-in instruments, drums, three templates, audio recording, your library and iCloud sync are all free.
I bought Gridsong before it was free. Then Pro is already yours, nothing to buy. If it shows locked, open Gridsong Pro in Settings and tap Restore purchase.
