Refast - Privacy Policy

Last updated 12 August 2026.

The short version

Refast collects nothing. There is no account, no analytics, no advertising identifier and no tracking of any kind. There is no Refast server, so there is nowhere for your data to be sent.

What data Refast collects

None. Refast does not collect, transmit or receive any personal data. Its App Store privacy label reads "Data Not Collected", and that is a literal description of the app.

What stays on your device

iCloud

If you are signed in to iCloud, your fasting history syncs through your own iCloud account using Apple's CloudKit. That data goes to Apple, not to us, and it is governed by Apple's privacy policy. We have no access to your iCloud account and cannot see anything stored in it. If you are not signed in, Refast works exactly the same and nothing leaves your device at all.

Health data

Refast does not use Apple Health. It does not read from HealthKit and it does not write to it. Your fasting history is not shared with the Health app or with any other app.

Notifications

Refast asks for notification permission so it can tell you when a fast reaches its goal, and - only if you switch it on - at the halfway point. Those are the only two notifications it will ever send. Nothing is sent through a server: they are scheduled on your device by iOS. You can revoke notification permission at any time in Settings and the timer keeps working.

The Apple Watch

Your current fast is sent from your iPhone to your Apple Watch directly, device to device, using Apple's Watch Connectivity. It does not pass through us and it does not pass through the internet.

Purchases

Refast Plus is a single in-app purchase handled entirely by Apple. We never see your payment details, your Apple Account, or your name. The app only ever learns whether the purchase exists.

Third parties

Refast contains no third-party SDKs, no analytics frameworks and no advertising code. No data is shared with anyone, because none is collected. The only third party involved at all is Apple, for iCloud sync and for the in-app purchase.

Data retention and deletion

Because nothing is collected, there is nothing for us to retain or delete. Everything Refast stores lives on your device and is under your control: delete a fast inside the app, or delete the app itself, and it is gone. If you used iCloud sync, you can remove that data from Settings on your device (your name, then iCloud, then Manage Storage).

Children

Refast is rated 4+ and collects no data from anyone, including children. It contains no advertising, no user-generated content and no links out to the open web. Fasting itself is not recommended for under-18s without medical advice, and the app says so on first run.

Not medical advice

Refast is a timer. It does not diagnose, treat or give advice, and nothing in it should be taken as a recommendation to fast. If you are pregnant or breastfeeding, taking insulin or diabetes medication, under 18, or have a history of disordered eating, please speak to a doctor first.

Changes

If this policy ever changes, the updated version will be posted on this page with a new date. As long as the app collects nothing, there is unlikely to be much to change.
