Recomp is a file compressor that runs entirely on your device. This policy explains what the app does and does not do with your information.
Recomp does not collect, transmit, sell, or share any personal data, and it never uploads your files. There is no Recomp account, no analytics, and no third-party tracking.
Every compression happens locally, using the media frameworks built into iOS. Your photos, videos, audio, PDFs and documents are never sent to the developer or to any third party, and Recomp has no servers to send them to.
While a compression is running, Recomp writes working copies into your device's temporary storage. These are deleted when the job finishes or is cancelled. A compressed file is only kept if you choose to save it or share it somewhere yourself.
If you pick a photo or video, iOS asks your permission and gives Recomp access only to the items you selected. If you save a result back to your library, iOS asks separately for permission to add it. You can change or revoke either permission at any time in Settings, and Recomp keeps working with files chosen through the Files app.
Your preferences - such as your default target size and appearance - are stored on your device using the standard iOS settings store. They are not tied to any identity and are removed when you delete the app.
Recomp makes no network requests. It works with no internet connection at all.
If you use Send feedback, Recomp opens a pre-filled email in your own mail app. You can read and edit everything before sending, and nothing is transmitted unless you send it. The message includes only what you write plus basic technical details (app version, iOS version, device model) to help diagnose the problem. Emails you send are used solely to answer you and fix bugs, and are not shared.
Recomp is not directed at children and collects no personal information from anyone, including children.
If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted on this page with a new date above.
